Founded by Norwegian immigrant James Trane in, Trane invented a new low-pressure heating system that he called the Trane Vapor Heating System to combat the cold La Crosse, Wisconsin winters. Along with his son, Reuben, the father and son teamed up to incorporate the Trane Company in 1913.
